Groupies for Discord

Group events with sign-up slots, RSVPs and a shared calendar, right in Discord. Everyone sees times in their own zone.

By installing Groupies, you agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

An event card in Discord: slot buttons under the event, with Maybe, Can't go and Add to calendar.

How it works

  1. Add Groupies to your server

Someone with Manage Server or Manage Events then runs /groupies create, and the first one sets up your group.

  2. Build the event

/groupies create asks for a title, a time and a place, then opens a draft only you can see. Add slots and press Post event.

  3. People tap a slot

Each slot is a button on the card, beside Maybe and Can't go. Add to calendar sends links only the person who pressed it can see.

On a slot with a price, the reply only you see has a Pay to join link, or the organizer’s payment links and I've paid.

  4. Keep track in Discord

Run /groupies list to see what’s coming. On the website, link a circle to a server role and the circle follows whoever has the role. On the website, subscribe to any calendar, or to Your events for everything you’ve signed up for.

What your group gets

  • Calendars and who sees them

Give each activity its own calendar. Open it to everyone, keep it to certain circles, or make one just for you.

  • Every time in your own zone

Cards show each event in the reader’s time zone, alongside the zone it was planned in.

  • Repeating events

Set up a weekly run once, with an end date or none. Change just one date, this and following, or all.

  • Add to calendar

Subscribe to any of your group’s calendars, or all of them, in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, or get one personal feed of everything you’ve signed up for. New events, time changes and cancellations show up on their own. You can also add a single event.

  • A calendar on the web

Every event is on groupi.es too, for planning ahead or sharing a public calendar by link.

  • Managers fill the gaps

Whoever runs an event can add someone to a slot or take them off, and Groupies lets that person know.

  • One-tap sign-in

Links in messages only you can see open the website signed in, once you have a web login.

  • Event photos from Discord

Press 📸 Add photos on an event card, or choose Add to event photos from a message’s Apps menu to send its photos to the gallery.

  • Notify me

Press 🔔 Notify me on a card to hear about sign-ups and changes, by Discord message, email or the daily digest.

  • Paid events

Put a price on a slot and people pay when they sign up: by card into your group’s own Stripe account, or straight to the organizer by Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle.

  • Chip in from Discord

An event that asks for a chip-in gets a Chip in button on its card. /groupies support posts the group’s support card. Paying happens on the web, through Stripe.

What Groupies can access

Groupies asks Discord for these when you add it to a server. Here’s what each one is for.

applications.commands
Adds the /groupies commands to your server.
View Channel
Sees the channels it’s allowed in, so it can post there.
Send Messages
Posts event cards when someone creates or shares an event.
Embed Links
Shows each event as a card with its time, place and slots.

What it doesn’t do

  • It doesn’t read your server’s messages. It doesn’t ask for Discord’s Message Content access and hears from your server only when someone uses a Groupies command or presses one of its buttons. The only message it sees is one you pick with Add to event photos.
  • It doesn’t ask for your server’s member list. Role-linked circles use the roles of whoever is using Groupies.
  • It can’t manage your server, its roles or anyone else’s messages.

Questions

What does it cost?

Groupies is free for every group. Plus adds event photos and files, public invites with door check-in, and your own logo, and founding groups get it free at launch. Later it will be $5 a month or $50 a year per group.

Card payments are the exception: Groupies keeps a small fee on each one. Venmo, PayPal, Cash App and Zelle payments are free and go straight to the organizer.

Does everyone need a Groupies account?

No. The first /groupies create sets up your group, and people sign up straight from the card. An account on the website is optional, for the web calendar and group settings.

How do I remove Groupies?

Someone with Manage Server can remove it under Server Settings, in Integrations. Groupies stops answering in that server. Your group and events stay on the website.

What happens to our data?

Groupies stores what it needs to run your events: the events, who signed up, their notes, and names from Discord. It keeps no access token for your server. To have your group’s data deleted, contact us.
